Due to financial support by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, the Law of the Sea Institute of Iceland is able to grant five scholarships to qualified participants from developing countries, in particular Small Island Developing States, to attend the Conference on New Knowledge and Changing Circumstances in the Law of the Sea, Reykjavik, Iceland, 28-30 June 2018.

Each scholarship covers 1) accommodation in Reykjavik 27 June – 1 July (four nights), 2) the registration fee, which covers admission to the Conference, two lunches and refreshments in coffee beaks during the Conference, a Buffet Reception in Harpa Conference and Music Center, and an Excursion to Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and 3) reimbursement of economy class airfare (subject to approval by the Conference Secretariat, CP Reykjavík).

Given the nature of this Conference, a solid knowledge of the law of the sea and some working experience in this field are required.

Please submit an application with a curriculum vitae to Tomas Heidar, Director of the Law of the Sea Institute of Iceland, by e-mail, tomas.heidar2016@gmail.com, by 10 April 2018.
